Welcome Thomas Grindberg, Medical Student

Welcome, Thomas Grindberg. Thomas is a 3rd year medical student at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He will be spending 2 months at OAHS / Northside Medical Clinic doing the Third-Year Medical Student in Family Medicine Clerkship with Dr. Bryan Delage. The clerkship offers a variety of opportunities for out-of- state third and fourth year medical students. Students experience the breadth of practice that family physicians encounter daily.

Thomas grew up in Page, North Dakota on the family farm. His dad and grandpa are small, grain farmers, his mom is the accountant for the farm and his sister is a horticulturist in Fargo, looking to possibly take over the farm. In his free time Thomas enjoys camping, spending time at his parent’s lake cabin, playing piano and going to concerts/ the theater.

What inspired you to become a physician?

“Most of my life I was pushed in the direction of farming, but I knew it wasn’t for me. Medicine had always caught my eye, so I joined the local volunteer ambulance service in high school as a First Responder and then EMT. After seeing some very cool and intense stuff with the ambulance, my interest in medicine was solidified.”
