Outreach

The Outreach Department of Ortonville Area Health Services offers a wide array of specialty services on our campus for the convenience of our patients and our endeavor to keep health care close to home. These services are available at various times throughout the month.

AUDIOLOGY
An audiologist makes monthly visits to OAHS to provide hearing services the first Tuesday of the month. Her scope of practice includes hearing exams and ordering/testing of hearing aid devices. Physician referrals are not needed. Appointments may be made by calling (320)321-1551.

CARDIOLOGY
Cardiology outreach is provided at OAHS by cardiology specialists Dr. Richard Clark and Dr. Orvar Jonsson. Dr. Clark is affiliated with Sanford Health and sees patients at OAHS on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Dr. Jonsson is affiliated with North Central Heart and sees patients at OAHS once monthly, typically the third Wednesday of each month.

CHEMOTHERAPY
Ortonville Area Health Services offers chemotherapy services on a daily basis. Our chemotherapy suite offers a comfortable environment for the Monday- Friday program. Licensed staff provide the treatment.

ENT
The ENT specialist diagnoses and treats ear, nose and throat problems such as recurrent ear infections, sinus problems, hearing problems, hoarse voice, etc. The Dr. also provides skin cancer identification and removal. Tonsillectomies, sinus surgery and placement of ear tubes are performed at OAHS. Dr. Robert Cihak is the ENT specialist providing outreach at OAHS the first Tuesday of every month.

GI
Dr. Greg Gerrish and Dr. Jacob Schaeffer provide onsite colonoscopies and UGI Endoscopy throughout each month.

UROGYNECOLOGY
A Urogynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine specialist provides care and treatment for gynecological problems. Some surgical procedures can be performed at OAHS. Kevin Benson, MD has a primary clinic in Sioux Falls, SD. Urogynecology services are available the the third Monday, May – August and the second Friday, September – April

NEPHROLOGY
Dr. Christina Lankhorst from Sanford Clinic in Sioux Falls, SD is available to see patients via telemed services.

ONCOLOGY/ HEMATOLOGY
An oncologist is a cancer specialist who diagnoses and prescribes treatment such as chemotherapy and/or radiation for patients with cancer. Many chemotherapy treatments can be given right here at OAHS.

OPHTHALMOLOGY
Ophthalmology outreach services are available for cataract and YAG procedures.

ORTHOPEDICS
Our orthopedic or “bone doctors” diagnose and treat broken bones, arthroscopy procedures, total joint replacement (knee, shoulder and hips). Several of these procedures can be performed right in Ortonville. Ortho visits are provided at least weekly by Dr. Michael Vener and Dr. Casey Johnston from Glacial Lakes in Watertown, SD,

PODIATRY
The podiatrist provides treatment for toenails, heel and ankle problems. The service is provided weekly by specialist Dr. Scott Torness from Brown Clinic in Watertown. Many of the surgical corrections can be performed in Ortonville.

SURGERY
Surgery services are provided by Dr. Gregory Gerrish and Dr. Jacob Schaeffer. They provide procedures such as laparoscopic gallbladder, hernias, endoscopy services/colonoscopies, and many more. Varicose vein problems and consultations are also available for vascular problems such as aortic aneurysms and lower leg problems.
